We fight for an excellent, affordable, and growing public transit system.

We fight for Muni because it is essential to the character and soul of our city. Unlike places where transit is a choice of last resort for people who don't have cars, Muni is used by and benefits everyone in this diverse city. It keeps our streets safer by limiting car traffic. It enables nearly a third of households to live without a car and reduces our emissions of greenhouse gases.

When Muni is threatened, we are all threatened. The SF Transit Riders Union is fighting to preserve public transit in San Francisco as a clean, safe, efficient, fast, and dignified transportation option!
